About

Sustainable Development Goals are important to improving our world and community as a whole. This world is constantly changing and we must adapt to these changes while helping out other people. Although there have been changes, people are still living in poverty, with inequalities and without the necessary things to live. We can always do better as a community and improve life for everyone.

This challenge has allowed our team to try and make a real impact in the community. Tackling the goal to Reduce Inequalities has made our team think of a way to make a practical solution for the problem. The Sustainable Development Challenge helps small communities and large ones. Even helping one individual is impactful and it can change that person’s life.

Our Project addresses goal number 10. We plan on reducing inequality for those with diverse abilities. We want to make our community accessible for everyone no matter what abilities they may or may not have.

Our team has created a website that informs people about the accessibility status of public spaces within Kelowna, BC. We value the importance of hearing experiences first hand, so we will include a section of the website where people can give their opinions and feedback on places throughout Kelowna. By reading these experiences, and having correct information about the accessibility of a particular restaurant, store, or common area, we aim to reduce the stress of public outings. Instead of going into the unknown, people will be confident in their plans and leave without unexpected mishaps.

Our website is still in Beta so we're still improving it everyday! Interested in becoming a community partner or business partner? Feel free to contact us!
